There’s so many different creatine supplements on the market, making it difficult to know which one to choose. To make it easier, I’ve compared about 30 different products on the basis of 6 different criteria:
Creatine Monohydrate
There’s many of forms of creatine out there, but creatine monohydrate is the most thoroughly studied. It’s been proven to work in study after study. Stick with a dependable, proven product, not some “improved” form of creatine dreamt up by the marketing team of some supplement company.
Powder
Powder is easy to take, just mix with water. Pills are a pain because you have to take so many. Liquid creatine isn’t stable, and starts to break down as soon as it’s packaged. Powder is also the cheapest option.
Micronized
Micronized creatine dissolves quickly in water, making it faster to take. Also, coarse or gritty creatine products upset some people’s stomachs. Micronized products are ground into a fine powder, making them easy on your digestive system.
Additive Free
Many manufacturers add a bunch of stuff to their creatine. Does this stuff make their creatine better? There’s no proof of that. It does, however, make it more expensive.
Made In U.S. or Germany
High quality creatine is made in the U.S. or Germany. Chinese creatine has been found with useless and harmful fillers.
Creapure
Creapure is a brand of creatine which is packaged and sold by many supplement companies. It’s made in Germany, and has been tested to high levels of purity. Many other companies make good creatine, but I prefer Creapure because of their high quality standards.
